Art Deco Styled Cake Lifter - Polished Bakelite Handle - Original Box ContemporaryDesigned and manufactured with an art deco styled polished Bakelite handle in red, cream and black layers together with a stainless steel blade decorated with gold etched patterning, this item is a vintage cake lifter in its original box. The item is not marked or stamped. Although feint surface scratches exist due to use, the item is in very good condition. The box has seen some better days and is quite worn. The gold trim on the items are faded due to age and the saucer has a visible crack from the rim down to the centre (please see picture)

Both the pot and lid as well as the handle and spout are decorated in the Johnson Bros

It is decorated in soft pastel and deep blue and green colours with soft pink and yellow flowers

although missing one deck of cards as mentioned

This is a beautifully assembled set that will compliment any vintage table setting and comes in a lovely vintage wooden canteen with blue liner and 4 ball feet

but during the Victorian era they made a return in popularity and were made smaller than the originals and used as tea and coffee spoons

The saucer has a scalloped rim and gold trim

was founded in 1904 by Samuel J Simpson at the Soho Pottery works in Tunstall

Parts of faded silver trim is visible
