Description
Late 19th Century Chinese Wax Resist Fabric (4) Pendant LightsThis stunning piece of fabric originated in China in the late 19th century. It has been hand made through a very clever process whereby the wax is hand painted on the fabric, then it is dipped into indigo dye, and all the areas that were waxed were left untouched by the dye. This allowed for the beautiful patterns to come through, and the fabric to truly come alive. Due to its thin nature, the fabric would make excellent summer throws or unique wall
This phenomenal Ming style bench is made from a type of Rosewood called hongmu which gives it that gorgeous dark colour
titled and signed by the artist
