the nomenclature on its face ("Elevate" and "Depress") as well as the range on the degrees scale (10 to 0 to 65deg) doesn't seem to support that identification

See diagram from the UH 1 Flight Manual. Measures 3. 25 in diameter and ~7in deep. It is in exceptional condition for its age. The dial markings are clear and the glass and case are intact. This unit has a label from San Antonio Air Materiel Area Kelly Air Force Base, Texas, and a service label dated 1966.
