2017 Barolo, Monvigliero, Fratelli Alessandria, Piedmont, ItalyVerdunos finest site, Monvigliero is large (25 hectares); the estate has four plots of vines nearly 50 years old and totalling 1. 4 hectares right in the vineyards sweet spot. The soils are white, steep and south facing; the wines are startlingly fresh. Yet the wine is profound, a woven basket of cherry and pepper spice, sealed with talc like tannins. Drink 2025 2040.
