Rome Black artists oil colorImported pigment. Our Rome Black is carefully crafted from earth ground Lignite, a soft brown coal, sourced from Verona, Italy. Transparent historic brown black, in use since the 15th century, Rome Black is warm and fairly nuanced in mixing. Shown here tinted with our Titanium White at lower left and with our Flake White at lower right. Rome Black is milled with the finest alkali Linseed Oil in limited quantities for a naturally drying durable paint
