Kitchin’s Miniature Map of Suffolk Printed Area Measurement_41.5 x 25.5 cmThis map of Sussex was first issued in The London Magazine, which between 1747 and 1754 published a complete set of English county maps by Thomas Kitchin. The maps were subsequently published as a pocket atlas and reissued as a set by Alexander Hogg in Boswell's Antiquities of England & Wales. Condition & Materials Copper engraving, 15 x 20 cm, recent hand colour, blank verso.

The survey for this map was made on the outward voyage of Lord Macartney's embassy to China and shows the entrance to Turon Harbour – Da Nang in modern Vietnam – and the course of the brig HMS Jackall
