The firm quickly became the largest and most successful producer in the area with the clay being best suited for brownware and stoneware, kitchen pots, jugs, bottles, dishes and jars. Some Crown Staffordshire marks state that the firm was established in 1801 but this is only due to the fact that the Minerva Works which they acquired was a pottery firm dating back to 1801

The lid requires a polish and has a few surface scratches due to use

The dish also comes with a removable 3-way divider fitted with a finial handle at the top

The dish has age related crazing as well as discolouration and has two tiny chips underneath the rim
