Fontaine Gagnard, Batard Montrachet Vintage:2013(from a . 30 ha parcel in Chassagne). A cooler and very pure nose freely offers up its aromas of spice, various citrus elements and ripe white fleshed fruit, in particular white peach. The delicious, intense and beautifully textured medium weight plus flavors possess focused power and fine detail on the balanced and strikingly long finish. This is a Btard of finesse and understated rather than overt muscle and imposing size and weight.

warm bouquet with chestnut and smoke-tinged red fruit

and the house style is unmistakable

This is quite aromatically similar to the Corton with perhaps just a bit less sauvage character

the 2008 Blanc de Blancs unfurls in the glass with an expressive bouquet of freshly baked bread

musky earth and spicecake aromas show outstanding clarity and pick up a smoky mineral nuance with aeration

but slightly underwhelming considering the provenance
