CINQUE TERRE, Riomaggiore - Italy56 x 12 x 2. 5 cm This is a typical style house in the Cinque Terre area. It is such a beautiful part of Italy and close to where I grew up so I have visited many times. How amazing is it to walk out your back door and the stairs go straight to the ocean. The houses being tall and narrow are a perfect match for the driftwood boards. Wood Found: Indonesia

None of the wood from this wreck would float - so I imagine it sat for years at the bottom of the lagoon before a storm swept it up on the beach

It seems that the more challenging the aspects of a building are to paint the more captivating they are when finished

I initially wanted to paint the opposite side of the wood - and thus ended up painting the base yellow on both sides
