Rocque’s Map of Middlesex DorsetThis map of Middlesex was first published in 1746 to accompany Thomas Reads English Traveller. The the plates were acquired by John Rocque and re issued as The Small British Atlas in various editions from 1753. After Rocque's death the maps made a final appearance, illustrating England Displayed in 1769. Condition & Materials Copper engraving, 16. 5 x 20 cm, modern hand colour, blank verso.
The most conspicuous additions are the railways: ‘all since 1830’
