Knot Jar (2 color options) ceramic pina colada cupKnot jars are small food safe jars which can be used for anything from tea bag storage to q tip or cotton balls, and other trinkets. Thrown from a porcelain and chocolate clay, the lids are constructed by forming an intricate actual knot, which 'tightens' as the clay shrinks throughout the making process.

Each mug is uniquely painted- this piece is a matte white outside and a glossy white on the inside

Your piece will be ready to pick up in about two weeks time

Then your piece will go into the kiln for a final firing

or to keep with the print

The outside is untouched- and unglazed it is finely sanded to showcase the beauty of the raw surface

I am humbled by my student's openness and vulnerability in trying something new- I believe that art is truly for everyone

it is very tactile and the grooves catch shadows in a dramatic way

making the piece water tight

They are printed on an archival matte fine art paper

I've also seen these used to store a variety of fancy salts and pepper flakes on the dining room table
